Over the years, the marijuana strain Blue Dream has gained massive popularity thanks to celebrity endorsement. I stayed away from it in the beginning of my strain search, however I still found myself wanting to try it. I was concerned over this strain being one that once again people hyped up but was really a bust. So, is Blue Dream worth the hype?
As the medical marijuana industry gain more traction out in Arizona, quite a few dispensaries have elected to sell Blue Dream on their shelves as the natural flower, infused into edibles, or transformed into a distillate or other concentrate forms such as shatter and wax.
Blue Dream is a marketed as a sativa-dominant hybrid strain with uplifting and euphoric effects that are perfect for daytime use. Many users have suggested this strain for those who deal with nausea and other stomach ailments as well as some stress and depression.
When Blue Dream was first introduced to me, I was lead to an edible – a medicinal THC syrup actually. I have tried Blue Dream as a concentrate also, but not for the first try. I was still quite new to trying different strains when I was offered the product, but I remained open about the end result of use. The syrup itself, offered by Baked Bros, reminded me of a cough syrup and could be taken from a medicine dosing cup, or mixed into your favorite food or beverage.

The consistency of the medicine is that of Tylenol in liquid form, but a tad bit thicker. I did attempt to mix the medicine into a juice drink, but it did not blend well and ruined that trying the medicine that way for me again. Nevertheless, I was still able to take the medicine as suggested from my Budtender.
The Baked Bros Blue Dream cherry-flavored syrup actually reset my digestive system. When I was in the military, I contracted h.pylori, a bacterial infection which infects the lining of the stomach, after consumption of raw veggies that were not properly cleaned (unbeknownst to me). Even after treatment I had a difficult time trying to get my digestive tract back online.
I took a variety of prescription and over-the-counter medications that are not meant for long-term use under the direction of my primary care physician, but my resulting issues were never solved. I was left with feelings of incomplete bowel movements, stomach cramping and pain, and could go a week or so before another bowel movement which isn’t normal. I kept my doctor updated on how I felt, but outside of shoving off brand Prilosec down my throat I had no other options there.
Once I got my medical marijuana card, I knew that having the card would be beneficial not only for my PTSD but I could search for strains to help ease my stomach issues. So to the dispensary I went, and after speaking with my Budtender about what issues I was dealing with, I purchased the Blue Dream syrup.
Once I got home, I took the medicine just before eating in hopes of the medicine taking action faster. Following ingestion it took roughly 45 minutes before activation and boy did I have a hard time at first. My stomach cramped and I was in a world of pain. I actually vomited a couple of times and this was with the minimum dosage! I was a bit disappointed that I had thrown up my stomach contents but noticed that my stomach quit hurting soon after.
I felt relieved. I was energized yet my body was relaxed. I didn’t feel so stressed out anymore, so my PTSD could definitely handle Blue Dream… but what about my stomach now? Well, it worked. Soon after I was back to digesting food and moving my bowels as normal. I was honestly in complete disbelief to a point where I went back to the dispensary the next day just to thank my Budtender (yes it was that damn serious).
Would I recommend this Blue Dream? Absolutely. It is the perfect amount of THC to provide an elevated and heightened experience without the feeling of couchlock.
