When I think of the name “Sundae Driver”, I imagine that I am going to be tasting all of the sweet and savory flavors within an actual sundae - you know, the hot fudge, vanilla ice cream and let's not forget the whipped cream… boy do I have a treat for you! So sit back and relax as I bring to you yet another one of my personal reviews covering the Melting Point Xtracts (MPX) distillate cartridge, Sundae Driver.
Quality and Taste
While the name sounds quite peculiar and interesting for weed, I figured I’d still give it a shot. As I mentioned before, I imagined tasting the in-depth tones of a nice vanilla sundae. I have to be real here, because that is all that my blog is about - keeping these reviews honest and real. This Sundae Driver literally is more of like I was holding screws (yes, actual screws like the ones over on the right there... yeah, them screws). I had to check the name to make sure it didn’t say Screw Driver, which could have so been the name for this and I would have probably liked it more.
I just appreciate it when the strain’s identifying name matches its taste. That's all I'm sayin'!
While the taste of this alone would give this a one leaf out of three, I truly did like the fact this strain’s quality is pretty strong. When I did finally feel most of its effects, I could see why most people wrote reviews explaining how they found this strain to be beneficial. However, I just cannot get over that super metallic like taste that was present on inhale and exhale. Also, I did have slight munchies, but nothing that made me want to raid my pantry for snacks.
Medicinal Benefits
Now for the medicinal benefits of Sundae Driver. Since the flavor was actually garbage, I really expected for this strain to fail me in adding in some medicinal benefit where it lacks on taste. Well here, the strain actually delivered! According to reviews of the strain on Leafly.com, most people experienced a general happy feeling and just overall great vibes. This seems like a great strain for slowing down a racing brain, especially when other ordinary relaxation techniques fail to get the job done.
Upon activation, I felt nothing but a strong cerebral buzz.
Like most indicas or indica-dominate hybrids, this strain is not great for productivity so I highly encourage you to partake in this when you are in a comfortable space (like home). Upon activation, I got a strong cerebral buzz. Anytime I feel more of a cerebral-type of high or head high, I know that this could be a strain to definitely rely on for soothing anxiety and high stress levels; however, I would not use this strain for experiencing body chill vibes because it does very little relaxing there. Aside from feeling my limbs relax a little, you may not see too much muscle and/or joint pain relief.
All in all, I rate Sundae Driver two leaves out of three.
As mentioned above, while this strain was great for knocking out issues related to panic attacks and high stress, it tasted metallic. Perhaps I got a semi-bad batch. Shit, who knows. Chances are I will be giving this strain another try, but with a different brand, or as the actual flower instead of concentrate to really be able to taste the terpenes.
Have you ever tried Sundae Driver? Is it awful or am I just nuts (pun intended)? Let me know in the comments below!
Catch you in the trees!
