Profile and Taste
A cross between Wedding Cake and Gelato #33, Ice Cream Cake has a sweet yet buttery dense taste like biting into a piece of cake.
A heavy, whipped topping flavor, this indica captures a satisfying yet weird taste similar to a bite of basic grocery store vanilla birthday cake and off-brand vanilla ice cream. It isn't totally remarkable, but does satisfy the taste buds. The name suits this strain but, you know, it's weed so I don't expect the flavor to be super pronounced.
Perfect as an afternoon treat (or as a flavorful breakfast), Ice Cream Cake will stimulate your appetite, so have some healthy snacks on standby to avoid overloading on sugar and calories.
Medicinal Benefits
Although marketed as an indica-dominant hybrid to me by the dispensary, this strain did not shut off my busy mind. That said, I do not recommend this strain for PTSD however it can help ease some light anxiousness before they turn into full blown anxiety attacks.
Leafly.com lists this strain as good for pain, but outside of a head high there was no body relaxation for me. Chronic pain sufferers might find this strain helpful for light aches. Sufferers of musculoskeletal pains might find this strain just annoying. My physical pain, outside of menstrual cramps, did not experience relief in the way I anticipated.
Ice Cream Cake did shift my mood into one that was cheerful, but chill. I wouldn't use this strain to be active in social situations as it does relax the mind a little and suppresses the need for chatter. Other than that, Ice Cream Cake would make an excellent depression deterrent.
Final Thoughts
Canna-connoisseurs might find this strain a big waste of time if seeking total relaxation. Ice Cream Cake won't have you glued to your seat but it definitely isn’t a smooth productivity strain. Give this strain a shot if you want something that's light on the THC dosage but still offers some minor stress relief when you're ready to settle down for the day.
I wish you luck on your strain search! Stay safe out there.
I'll catch you in the trees!
Sounds fire I need to sample this one. Great read.
