Contrary to what I actually thought was just a strain, this particular roll is actually a combination of several different indica strains, which Health For Life - Ellsworth location places into the indica category - according to one of their budtenders. Of course, due to grow and harvesting times, Rainbow Roll may not be available all of the time for purchase and consumption. After reading through my review on the quality, taste, and medical relief of this strain, you can then decide if it will be worth your money whenever it becomes available again by this dispensary.
Now on to some little ol' opinions about Rainbow Roll.
Just to put this out there, a friend of mine said that he heard that dispensaries use old shake to fill the pre-rolls that they sell. I must admit, the thought of a dispensary selling me really old weed had me a bit more than hesitant on ever purchasing any bagged up shake or pre-rolls from any dispensary whatsoever. How true this is, I have no idea, but for this review, I actually went ahead a purchased this pre-roll.
Rainbow Roll Quality
The overall look of the Rainbow Roll pre-roll was nicely sealed and firmly packaged. I was honestly shocked when I removed the roll itself from its casing. I had no issues with keeping the pre-roll lit nor did I run into the issue of the pre-roll burning out due to no clear airflow. The smell was absolutely phenomenal.
Based on the complaints that most people have about pre-rolls, I guess I can say that I lucked out with this one. The container Rainbow Roll came in was this cute little tube that resembled one that might be seen when blood is being drawn - my phlebotomist folks, feel free to drop that proper name. I swear it’s adorable! With that being said, I tend to smoke my pre-rolls in two sessions to finish a whole roll. I was able to place whatever I had left (say if I were interrupted or something) right back into the container and it sealed wonderfully. I could not smell anything from the recently burned joint.
Besides the packaging, within the pre-rolls contained one gram of the strain(s) total. This, in a way, came as a surprise because the size of it looked much bigger than other pre-rolls I have had in my past though those stated that they, too, were a full gram. Who’s lying here??
Rainbow Roll Taste
Now, for the taste of this pre-roll. Rainbow Roll as a strain was pretty smooth and not harsh on my throat whatsoever. I was able to smoke this with a much bigger inhale than my usual - I do deal with asthma, and yes, it is under control, but it is important to make sure you follow your doctor's recommendations when it comes to your cannabis.
The exhale of the Rainbow Roll brought in a sweet, sort of berry-like taste with just a hint of earth tone to it. I expected it to be a little more pungent than what I tasted, but it wasn’t. It was truly more sweet-tasting than anything, as if I was eating on a grape-flavored lollipop.
One great thing I can say about this Rainbow Roll is it did not give me munchies. I was able to use it just before bedtime and it settle me right down without needing to knock out those really strong cravings just before some shuteye. Overall, I highly recommend this strain based on the taste itself. Three out of three leaves.
Medical Relief
The medical relief portion of this is truly remarkable in that it enabled me to enjoy a total body relaxation type of high. One benefit worth noting is the fact that this strain did ease the intensity of the muscle spasms I had as well as anxiety. I felt more grounded, if you will.
Rainbow Roll is great for simple relaxation at the end of a busy work day just to unwind. It took approximately five to ten minutes for me to feel the activation. I did use this just before my bedtime due to the fact that it was an indica, and most indica strains tend to make me pretty drowsy. While this did not completely knock me out, I did enjoy the body buzz while it lasted.
For my final rating, I give this strain 2 Leaves out of 3.
It tried . . .
As I mentioned before, while the flavor is absolutely amazing, the strain itself only knocked out the annoyance factor of my pain and anxiety but it did not leave me completely pain free.
