I am definitely not the kind of person to pay twice the cost for a strain just because it is deemed popular based on celebrity branding. However, because the Khalifa Kush marijuana strain was being offered at a discount, I chose to purchase it. Maybe the price drop was because of the Father’s Day holiday coming up, but I didn’t care. I was actually excited because there was no way I was going to pay above street prices for a potentially mediocre strain.
Now, on to some specifics, shall we?
Khalifa Kush is a marijuana strain that was bred specifically for the rap artist Wiz Khalifa.
Of course, the strain available to the public is said to not contain the full parental profile of the real cannabis strains used to breed Khalifa Kush, but either way the public seems to accept the professed weed of the Wiz Khalifa. For a while, Reef Dispensaries proudly displayed the fact that they were the only dispensary in Arizona carrying the popular strain. This celebration was short-lived, however, when Nova Dispensary was able to acquire rights to sell the strain in their store. Nova also sells Tryke concentrates, which leads me to believe that maybe the two shops have decided to collaborate and spread great quality into more areas throughout the east valley. Who knows, but I love it!
Khalifa Kush resonated with and helped out my vibrations so much!
All through reduction of my stress, Khalifa Kush leveled me out. From time to time I deal with an awful lot of external, uncontrollable factors that I will ponder on long after I’ve decided to let it be.
I try managing the racing thoughts that ensue these types of situations by keeping my vibrations high, but lately achieving this has been difficult. The sativa-dominant hybrid compensated for the remainder of energy that I couldn’t produce myself that really made the cannabis stand out among other strains in the same category I have tried.
Taste and Medicinal Benefits
Of course, I had to try Khalifa Kush as a pre-roll. I like to try new strains in small portions just gauge if the weed would be worth buying in larger gram sizes or ounces. I wish I had gotten this strain in a higher quantity! Khalifa Kush boasts flavors of lemon and pine, but it is a little pungent on the exhale. Even though the terpene potency could not be felt by the time I took a second hit, it definitely came through on the third! I mean the skunk was in the building!
Some citrusy tones enveloped me shortly after the overwhelming skunk fest making the transition into my high smooth yet exciting.
As I mentioned before, Khalifa Kush is a sativa-dominant hybrid. This means that while the strain is a blend that produces both relaxing effects of an indica and energy effects of a sativa, the sativa effects are more pronounced. I believe that maybe Wiz uses this in the studio on a track just before that beat drops but after his awkward cackle of a laugh (and I love it too!). I experienced levels of energy that was really subtle and stable. I appreciated the fact that I wasn’t tossed into a caffeine rush. My productivity thrived for as long as the high lasted, which was about 3 hours (I did not smoke a lot at all). The high following my intake was nothing but smooth. The rich energy from Khalifa Kush cleared my mind and allowed me to focus more on my tasks.
While the the taste was not much to comment on, I do believe that Khalifa Kush deserves a rating of three leaves out of three leaves.
I assigned Khalifa Kush this rating because the flawed taste was quickly beaten by the great cerebral trip. I remained wide awake and well grounded. At times it did not feel as though I were actually under the influence, but I was quickly reminded every single time I stood up quickly (it hits you like a strong margarita). I cannot believe I am going to admit this, but Khalifa Kush is definitely worth the higher price. I will absolutely be keeping my eye on this celebrity-level strain.
The absolute verdict for Khalifa Kush:
We got hella faded!
