Forbidden Fruit is unlike any other fruity strain I have ever had, honestly. The overall consistency of this strain is great, but the fact that I tried it as flower before anything else had me a bit hesitant. Usually, for me, the flower tends to be more potent, full of flavor naturally, and has a longer effect on me (activation lasting one and a half hours to two hours total after one joint).
When it comes down to Forbidden Fruit, take a look over my review, and then you decide if this is really a forbidden fruit or a rotten tomato in disguise.
Look and Taste
Forbidden Fruit… just saying the name had me thinking that I was going to taste something that was fruity, but I had never had a super fruity strain before. How on earth was I going to compare this to another fruity strain? The odds were against me, but who cares. I went for it anyway!
Forbidden Fruit came in from the gold tier category at Reef Dispensaries located in Queen Creek, AZ. I have yet to figure out their tiers in relation to their potency especially with how well the flower strain is, but I notice that most dispensaries tend to keep certain strains at very specific tiers just based on its overall output of flavor, taste, and it’s ability to do what it does best.
I truly was looking forward to this pre-roll the moment I laid eyes on the title. Like the other Tryke pre-rolls I have tried in the past and enjoyed, this one came nicely sealed with the bud being sealed in sort of a cute small canister-like capsule and adorned with a beautiful gold label for the Tryke Gold Label brand. While with some items you are unable to smell the weed through the packaging, you are not really able to smell this particular strain within this canister.
The taste of this strain offers a beautifully light fruity flavor - similar to eating the maraschino cherries from a fruit cocktail. I was honestly shocked by the explosion of cherry taste that I had with some flowery and sweet undertones. Immediately I thought of eating cherries in a field of flowers while smoking. I shit you not, this strain I highly recommend based on the overall flavor of it alone.
Medicinal Benefits
The medicinal benefits of Forbidden Fruit were damn near nonexistent. I was pretty disappointed that I picked up only one pre-roll and it just didn’t do anything for me. While I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of this strain, Forbidden Fruit did not help me out from a medicinal standpoint. I could not even feel a steady high. While going through a current anxiety attack I tried this strain to see if it would help ease some of the symptoms. I had to smoke something different immediately after smoking an entire Forbidden Fruit pre-roll just to get rid of the anxiety.
All in all, I have to rate this particular strain one leaf out of three leaves just because it literally just did nothing for me but feed me great flavorful vibes.
While that is cool, I was hoping for some pain relief, but maybe I just need to give it a shot again.
With that being said, if you ever want some bud that has a great flowery/fruity type of taste and scent but won’t get you fucked up, go for Forbidden Fruit!
So now we’ve come to the end. Would you smoke this strain? How about if it were in concentrate form? Let me know in the comments below.
