Cannabis Quality vs. Quantity

Quality vs. Quantity when it comes to cannabis consumption seems to be a bit of a debate among those of the medical/recreational marijuana user communities. Some claim that with the right strain, you need way less so always look out for the quality of your strain. Others believe that the more you smoke, no matter what the strain is, you will have a very enjoyable high. So which is it that a newbie should be on the look out for, quality or quantity? If you're curious, keep on reading to find out which choice might be the better go to for you.

Does the amount you purchase at once matter to you?

Quantity

In terms of quantity, I am referring to the amount of medical marijuana a person consumes in a single dose, based on milligrams (mg) and grams (g). - for those who care to use that as a decent reference. When purchasing in Arizona, as of March 2019 and according to the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), you are not able to purchase more than 2.5 ounces (2.5 oz) of marijuana in a 14-day period. In other words, the more you purchase in that 14-day period, the longer you might have to wait before you can re-up (re-supply your marijuana on-hand).

When you elect to mostly buy based on the amount you get, you do ultimately forgo the list of what products are added to your cannabis during cultivation. This means that while you can have a lot of weed, it could be a lot of bad weed potentially.

This doesn't mean that purchasing based on quantity or the amount you get in a package is negative...

Chances are, if you purchase based on quantity, then you are familiar with the term of micro-dosing. Micro-dosing in marijuana enables you to consume a low amount on a set schedule daily to moderate your pain levels and keep you from being too out of it, especially if you need to be productive daily. You can still purchase based on quantity, just be aware of

Is your medicine based on how well it resolves your ailments?

Quality

Whenever you are shopping for your meds based on the quality of cannabis, that's a different thing. Shopping this way means that you will likely be consuming a great product which will result in you enjoying a rather phenomenal high and as well as relief for just about anything. However, this also means that you are likely to be loyal to a specific brand and unwilling to try any other product outside of your brand of choice. You might miss out on some great cannabis concentrates, edibles, or flower if you migrate more towards the only viewing your cannabis quality.

Not all products are created equal and this is something that you are going to find out quickly...

With that said, some believe that you should forego the way a product tastes if the quality is right... this is a personal choice in my opinion. I have had some products with fairly high CBD/THC contents and the items sometimes tasted horribly or did not last near as long as products with lower content percentages.

All in all, find a happy medium! Shop around and get a feel for things. There may be a strain that is a "fix-all" for you or you may discover that you need multiple strains to help you. Whatever the case is for you, I wish you well on your medicated journey. Stay chilled.
